Tzur Yisrael, Rock of Israel: As we mark the 75th anniversary of Kristallnacht, we thank you for the strength, endurance and spirit of hope that has enabled the Jewish people to survive, revive and thrive after the Sho’ah. May our recollection of the terrors of that ‘night of broken glass’ – the burning synagogues, homes and workplaces; the women, men and children harassed, assaulted and killed – remind us of our sacred responsibility to nurture and nourish Jewish life today.
Eternal One and Foundation of all existence: As we remember the murder of 6,000,000 Jews by the Nazis and the destruction of tens of thousands of Jewish communities, may we reaffirm our obligation as Jews to challenge anti-Semitism, racism, xenophobia, homophobia, transphobia, persecution and bigotry of all kinds, and to engage in tikkun olam, the repair of the world. And let us say: Amen.
