Prayer for Ushering in Pride
Ein Ha-Chayyim, Source of Life, we have gathered here this evening from different places – physically, spiritually, emotionally – to celebrate Brighton Pride, and also our pride in ourselves, and in our wonderfully varied lives.
As we welcome the heavenly messengers of peace who inaugurate Shabbat, let us also welcome the earthly messengers of justice and equality, each and every one who has come to this place to share this moment together and contribute to the building of community.
With Your help, Eternal One, we have struggled and we will continue to struggle for a Judaism worthy of Your name and all our lives. May the experience of forging connections with one another inspire us to rededicate ourselves to this sacred task, and give us the nourishment we need to continue our journey.
And let us say: Amen.
